そういや、俺が落語を初めて知ったのは逆転裁判のおかげだったな。シリーズ中最も日本特有の要素の強い事件で、ジャパニフォルニア(逆転裁判6の舞台となる地名の海外版でのローカライズ名っぽい)のことがより一層面白く感じられた
That reminds me, I actually first heard of Rakugo thanks to an Ace Attorney game. It was probably the most Japanese case in the entire series and only made the whole Japanifornia thing even funnier.

年功序列は日本人にとって重要で、若い人がより長く勤めた年上よりも先に昇進してしまうと、怒らせてしまう場合が多いし、能力に基づいた正当な評価なんか気にしていない
Keep in mind that in Japan organizations always expect you to be in low positions for years before you’re allowed to get promoted, regardless of merit. Seniority is really really important to them, and someone young being promoted before someone older who’d been longer would indeed piss a lot of people off and wouldn’t care about whether or not it’s warranted based on their ability.

Yeah, especially in traditional organizations with a long history. For example in Japan it takes TEN YEARS to become a respectable sushi chef, and you’re not even allowed to touch the rice or a knife for the first few years of your training, you can only wash dishes and shit.

Honestly the school was the only impediment for Akane to go 100% on rakugo so it’s pretty understandable they finally got rid of it.
I do hope Sensei keeps appearing from time to time though.
