That was an interesting shot. I can’t quite tell if it’s a photograph with an added filter on top or if it’s a painting.
The filter that they used to simulate movement while the waves obviously don’t move themselves was also really nice. Subtle yet effective.

Man I don’t know the actual jargon to describe these thick outlines for the characters they’ve been using in this anime, but it reminds me of old 80s and 90s anime and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Especially with how it alternates with softer, thinner lines for more impact for specific scenes all the while the animation stays smooth.
