第5話「きんたの恩返し」あらすじ：
　季節は夏。きんたが所望した鍛冶小屋も完成し稲作も順調に進む。しかし相変わらず、きんたはゆいにきつく当たる。邪険に扱われても、なおそばにいて関わろうとする真っすぐなゆいを見たサクナはきっと恋に違いないと、愛読書である「片恋物語」を参考にゆいを応援しようとするのだった。

I wish the game had a replay section menu. I like the rice growing in the context of playing through the game, but after getting lvl 50 for the achievement a replay seems questionable. However, that might be since I liked the characters the most and not having anything afterwards, except for them sitting in the huts, was a bit sad for me.

If Yui’s wish to become human to be with Kinta was granted by some random lower god or goddess, I’d be totally fine with this whole episode because that fits the already established worldbuilding. It’s literally just the aliens that I have a problem with. Their inclusion in this makes no sense and feels pointless.

エイリアンはゲームでもほぼ脈略なく登場する。アニメで宇宙人について特に飛ばされたところはないけど、ゆいとのやりとりは省略されたとこがある、もしかしたら後から回想で触れるのかも。ゆいときんたの物語は、日本の民話「鶴の恩返し」を元にしてる。その物語の要点は、男と鶴の女は最後には別離するということだ。
A couple notes for anime-onlies.
The aliens have just as little context in the game. They didn’t skip anything important about them, though they did skip one thing about their interaction with Yui, which they might still flash back to later anyway. Yui and Kinta’s story is based on the Japanese folklore story The Crane’s Return of a Favor.

Wasn’t expecting Yui to be a crane or aliens to show up. The aliens in particular took me off guard. Pretty good episode though. Hope Kinta will be more mellow after this episode. He’s the only character I haven’t really cared for so far and I hope he’s changed for the better now.

Something the show probably won’t do, but you can bully Yui in the game by serving a meal of nothing but bird meat and she’ll have a hard time eating any of it. It’s one of the few “hidden” meal discussions.

他にも面白いことに気づいたんだけど、サクナだけ食器が豪華なんだよね。いろいろな食器があって見逃しがちだけど、雀のものだと、サクナは赤い食器で他のみんなは茶色い食器だから本当に一目瞭然。別の食事だと、サクナの茶碗に金色のアートが描かれているものもあった。
開発者のこのゲームへの愛の注ぎっぷりはほんと凄いよ
Something else interesting I just noticed is that Sakuna is the only one that gets fancy tableware. It’s easy to miss when you have a lot of different dishes but in the sparrow one it’s really obvious since she had red dishes and everyone else gets brown ones.
Did another meal and her bowl has some art in gold on it while everyone else has plain brown or red bowls for their ten-don.
God I love how much love the dev put into this game.

I finished the game last tuesday and I don’t know why some people were saying the ending was sad, it was a pretty happy one all things considered, with every main character achieving what they set out to do.

I think without a strict control any religion will eventually become polytheistic-like. Just like how polytheistic religions usually have a main god and minor gods for specific purposes bellow it and people worship the main god but also the minor gods for specific reasons monotheistic religions end up adding polytheism traits. So even if there is only one God in name we end up with other divine beings with divine powers over some specific concept be them angels like the Angel of Justice or even mortals ascended to deity-like status like saints (by deity like status I mean people worship them, pray for them, make wished and supposedly have wishes granted by them). Similarly the devil can be seen as an antagonistic deity in some sects even if it is not called a deity. So polytheism might be humans natural state and any group will drift towards it unless control is actively applied.

If you pray and worship something it serves as a similar role to a deity in a polytheistic setting even if it is not officially called a god officially. This is why I consider the patron saints minor gods, they serve similar purposes to a minor god in polytheistic religions even if they are just humans ascended to a special position in the divine hierarchy. Some gods in polytheistic societies originated from real people too and eventually became a god.

Sushi is made of vinegar rice with some seafood/egg/veggies and often eaten with some onions sauce right? I was thinking on how ponzu sauce main ingredients are citrus juice and shoyu… so I put some white rice, raw tuna and poured ponzu on top of everything. It became a zesty citrus sushi-like taste. Is this sushi or is this a sushi crime? Should I be afraid of the sushi police?
