富野は脚本より演出の方がずっといいだろ。それでも、面白いのは間違いないけど。
彼の物語は比較的率直で、テーマを掘り下げる機会を逃さないように時間をかけていて、高い概念や娯楽性ではなく、隠れた真実を前提にしており、他のどのアーティストよりも人間の本質に触れているんだ。
His direction is much better than his writing at that. Never fails to be amusing though.
His stories are relatively frank and take their time to not miss any opportunity to explore their themes, he bases his premises on hidden truths instead of high concepts or entertainment value, and he’s more in touch with human nature than just about any other artist.

Jokes aside he comes from a time where novelists (gundam is loosely based on his novel) would actually take inspiration on IRL and works outside anime and manga.
