北伐に於いての孔明は『演義』では魏延の危険性を察知し、追撃してきた司馬懿を谷に誘い込んで魏延共々焼き殺そうとしたが、雨が降ったことで失敗する。その後の最後の北伐に於いて、病状が悪化した孔明は幕内に祭壇を築いて寿命を延ばす祈祷を行うが、唐突に幕内に入ってきた魏延がこの祭壇を壊してしまったために祈祷に失敗し、死去した。

Historically, not really. Zhuge Liang was a civil officer, not a military one. He was exceptional at organizing the state of Shu, hence why he was made Prime Minister, but his military battles and campaigns were lacking or failed.
A lot of the stuff he is famous for doing in RotTK, like the empty fort strategy, was actually stuff OTHER Shu generals did or never happened at all. For example, the empty for strategy was actually Zhao Yun.

Did you even read the novel? Everyone’s goal was a united empire. Division into separate states was never considered an ideal, only a harsh reality due to everyone wanting the big chair for themselves.

Exactly, and the country is currently rather peaceful and prosperous too. The reason why the Chinese puts up with the shit CCP does is because historically, the Chinese are used to so much worse. They aren’t constantly at war with others or themselves and get enough food and good economical growth, so they aren’t going to complain.
