Interesting,she is telling the story from emotional perspective. Then I’m pretty sure it’s leading towards audience being and then Jugemu dying like in old original ending.

あかね噺は本当に面白い “バトル漫画”だ。先輩のアドバイスや得意技を活かして”基本“の落語を強化している。今のところ、体力やパワーよりもテクニックや戦略を重視した”バトル漫画”だった食戟のソーマよりも、ずっとうまくいっている気がする
I’m loving how the twist is basically “Oh? You thought I was going for a comedy? F**k you, it’s a tragedy now.”
It’s such an interesting “battle” manga. She’s using her senior’s advice and specialty skills to enhance her own storytelling of a “basic” rakugo story. So far, I feel it’s working a lot better than Shokugeki ever did, another “battle” manga that was more about techniques/strategy than stats and power levels.

この漫画の他の落語のように噺家の上にイメージが浮き上がる形ではなく、あかね自身は本当に物語の説明から消えてしまっているんだ
I want to say that hikaru’s reaction is actually supported visually and I like it, Akane really vanishes from the story explanation unlike most rakugos where it’s just the image floating over the artist in this manga.

It’s like reading a good book, you not even perceiving that you are doing action of reading and flipping pages because you are so engrossed into the story.

Yeah. They actually toned everything down this and last chapter to let the feeling hit you slowly just like it is hitting for Akane’s audience. The team on this are just knocking it out of the park.

This was a beautiful chapter. Seriously made me care and be interested in how every name got tacked on there, I love how by researching everything and acting more subtly Akane managed to turn a gag story back into the original drama/tragedy. Unironically, holy f**k I love rakugo now.

What an absolutely stellar chapter this was. Between connecting Akane’s simpler name to Jugemu’s long one and this shit coming out of left field. I sure as f**k hope it hits the top rank for all the chapters in WSJ this week cause it certainly was my favorite to read.

朱音自身の名前についてちょっと触れたのも良かったね。直接関係することではないから完全に読者のためのエピソードだったんだけど、そのおかげでなぜ子供の命名がこれほどまでに感動的なのか、その理由を教えてくれた
Adding the bit about Akane’s own name was a good touch as well. It was purely for us readers since it’s not directly related to anything else happening, but in lieu of us seeing Akane performing for real it provided a reason for us readers to get why the naming of the child can be so emotional.
