I have to give a shoutout to the camerawork in today’s battle with the Aberrant Woodmage. It really added to the impact of the Woodmage’s barrage of attacks, which helped elevate the tension in turn as I wasn’t sure if Sunraku would be able to keep dodging them.

ヴァッシュは間違いなく侮れない力を持っているけど、ウッドメイジを掴んで地面に投げ飛ばしたときに、杖が飛んでいってしまったことに、このシーンを見返してて気づいたよ。そしてヴァッシュ自身が言っていたように、杖がなければこのメイジは”動く木”でしかないんだ。
とはいえ、杖を奪ったからって、ちょっとしたダメージで死んでしまうモンスターでもないだろうけど。
Vash is definitely a force to be reckoned with, but I noticed – after checking out the scene once again – that the staff flew away as Vash grabbed hold of the Woodmage and flung it to the ground. And as Vash stated himself: without its staff, this mage is not more than “an animated tree”.
That said, I don’t think that it would just roll over and die from a little nick either after you’ve taken away its staff.

Fine ep, the trial was hard but once you know the treemages quirks it’s fairly simple to beat actually.
Just get some fast players to off it’s staff than spam rush its ass to death.
A superior team of mages could kill it too with greater magical attacks.
Might take a dozen encounters but afterwards it will become a mid tier boss at best for a raid.

You mean in terms of an ideal adaptation right? Because at the current pace, this will never ever make it past Wezaemon. The adaptation is currently at like chapter 18 and Wezaemon + the immediate aftermath is settled in chapter ~45.

実時間が短いことが一番気になるけど、一気見するなら多分マシになるだろう。基本的に実際のコンテンツは通常のアニメが20分あるところが、シャンフロは15分しかないんだよね。
でも2クールあることと、今回の長時間の戦闘アニメーションを考えると、それだけの価値はあるトレードオフだ
the main annoying thing for me is the short runtime, would prob be better on binge. basically only 15min of actual content vs the more standard 20.
but with the 2cour and the animation of such a long battle this episode, that’s a worthy tradeoff
