9話あらすじ：
身柄を拘束され、自分の行いの動機や悲しい過去を知られてしまうルーシー。一方ファラデーの指示で仕事に取りかかったデイビッドたちは、何かがおかしいことに気づく。

デイビッドは普通の子供だった。希望と夢を持っていた。母親がベッドではなく、ソファで寝すぎることを心配していた。成績はオールA。全ては過去のことになってしまった。
David looked awful at the end. Just a disembodied torso floating in a hulking mass of black steel. “Too much technology will make us literally lose our humanity” is a commonly used and usually way too on the nose trope of the genre, but this time it worked for me.
David was a normal kid. He had hopes and dreams. He worried about his mom sleeping on the couch too much instead of her bed. He got straight A’s. Now it’s all gone.

agreed he looks horrible. But don’t think he was going for/cares about the looks. It was fight or flight moment, I put on this suit and save everyone or we all die moment. We know David as a selfless, hot headed kid so no doubt he would sacrifice his humanity to save everyone.

The writers and Trigger have proven themselves this time around if they wanted to commission another Cyberpunk story. These things take a long time to make though. Maybe in time for Cyberpunk 2078.

デイビッドの結末は決まった。このミッションの前からそうだったんだろう。新型インプラントで死ぬのか、ミリテクに皆殺しにされるのかのどっちかだ。少なくとも死ぬ前に、新しいパワーでファラデーとアラサカをめちゃくちゃにして、クルーを救って欲しいもんだ。
キーウィもクソったれだ。数話前にメインが本当に◯してた方が良かったかもしれん。その一方で、レベッカは、常にデイビッドの背中を支え、ルーシー以外で唯一、クローミング化への執着を抑えようとする真のG(？)だ。ファルコもあんまり出番がなかったけど本当にクールだ。少なくともこの3人を最後にデイビッドが救ってくれることを祈る。
Damn… I can’t believe it didn’t hit me that Maine and Dorio’s deaths were partly on Lucy’s hands. That’s just depressing to think about.
F**k me, his fate is sealed. It probably has been even before this mission. But it was either the new implants, or they all get k**led by militech. At the very least, I hope David can use the new power to f**k Faraday and Arasaka up, as well save his crew, before he kicks the bucket.
F**king Kiwi too. Maybe it would’ve been better if Maine really did k**l her several episodes ago. Meanwhile, Rebecca is the realest G through and through, always having David’s back, and being the only person outside of Lucy to try and hold him back from his obsession with chroming out. Falco is pretty cool too even if we haven’t seen that much from him. God I hope David can at least save these three in the end.

この作品は、弱虫の子供が強くなって、最後に恋人と結ばれるという、典型的な少年ヒーローアニメとは違うところが素晴らしい。その代わりに視聴者が目にするのは死亡フラグ、力の代償、心と体を徐々に蝕む損耗。そしてこのエピソードの終わりには、彼が自分を見失い、次のエピソードで死ぬ可能性が高いことが見て取れる。サイバーパンクってやつは、どう生きたかではなく、どう死んだかで記憶されるんだ
This show if great because it’s not your typical shonen hero anime where weak wimpy kid turns strong and marriages his crush at the end. Instead we see the red flags, the price to pay for power, the slow degrading of the mind and body, and at the end of this episode how he pretty much loses himself and most likely dies next episode. Cyberpunks aren’t remember by how they lived, but how they died.

今観返してて、レベッカがどれだけ必死にデイビッドに自分を犠牲にするなって説得してるかがよく分かる。それに7話と8話にはレベッカがデイビッドに大して本気で恋をしていて、レベッカなりにデイビッドを心配してるのが分かる。
間違いなくこの作品のベストガールだ
my Favorite is Rebecca
so when I rewatched it now it clicks to me how hard Rebecca is trying to tell David to not sacrifice himself and how f**king mad of her. also with the hint at episode 7 and 8 how Rebecca really has crush on to David and caring to him in her own way
Definitely Best girl in the show

なんだこりゃ！？この外骨格のプロトタイプは、使用者をマジでビーストに買えてしまうんだ。デイビッドは本当に特別だよ。あれだけの精神的負荷を受けて、半分メカにされてしまったら、普通なら誰だってすぐに暴走するところだ。
ファラデーとの最終決戦が目前に迫っている。デイビッド、ベッカ、ファルコがルーシーを救おうとしてる。彼らは成功するんだろうか？わからないけど、多分イエスなんだろう。でも正直言ってデイビッドが生き残るとは思えない。
アダム・スマッシャーについて以前触れられたことがあった。あの骨格を使った後遺症をデイビッドが耐え抜いたとしても、デイビッドがスマッシャーと対峙することになれば無意味になってしまうかもしれない
残り1話。最終的にはルーシーとデイビッドのどちらかが月に行くんだろうと思うけど、両方が月に行けたら最高だね。
What the hell?! That exoskeleton’s prototype makes its user truly a beast. David is really special. Anyone would’ve just gone rampage right away after going through such mental stress and turning into literal half-mech.
The final battle with Faraday is nigh. David, Becca and Falco will try to save Lucy. Will they succeed? I don’t know, perhaps yes, but to be frank I don’t see David surviving it. 🙁
Adam Smasher was mentioned earlier. Even surviving the after-effects of using that skeleton might not be meaningful if David will have to face Smasher himself.
One episode left. I hope to see either Lucy or David on the Moon in the end, but it’d be cool if both of them could go there.

今回も強烈な回、特にサイバースケルトンになった後の戦いはね。ルーシーはデイビッドを助けようとしたんだけど、それが結局さらに大きな問題の渦中に巻き込まれることになってしまった。ベッカがデイビッドがおかしくならないように助けてくれてよかった
Another intense episode, especially with that battle that took place after he got in the cyberskeleton. Lucy was trying to help David but it just got her into an even bigger mess. Glad Becca was there to save him from going crazy.

atp I dont even know man David bouta go all in at the cost of his own life you can tell he ain’t the same kid from the first ep wow what a show this has been, I hope they end up saving Lucy and I also hope Becca and Falco make it. ik David probably not gonna make it but I hope something happens

I can see where this is likely gonna end and I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to handle it. Whether it is tragic or not I’ve loved every bit of binging this series. Definitely anime of the year so far!!

今回はドン引きしながらも最後まで付き合ってくれるレベッカとファルコのキャラや表情に惹かれるシーンが多かった。
